Possibly one of the most convenient and pleasant
spots to stay in London, the "Parkwood at Marble Arch"
is located in the exclusive "Connaught Village" area
of Central London. A beautiful Regency townhouse, typical of
many in the centre of London that were built for the wealthy
200 years ago
The Hotel is just across the road from Hyde Park at Speaker's
Corner. It is also just one minute from Marble Arch, the start
of Oxford Street, one mile of continuous shopping!
West End theatres are within easy walking distance and Buckingham
Palace, Kensington Palace, Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial
Playground, the Peter Pan statue, etc., are just a walk across
the park.
Access from Heathrow Airport is particularly easy by Heathrow
Express (15 minutes to Paddington Station) and then a five-minute
taxi ride to the Hotel.
The room prices are remarkably good value for this location
(see the "Price Guarantee" on the Prices page) and
the hotel is registered 3-Diamonds by the AA and the English
and London Tourist Boards.
[Some details you'll need to know :
- The Parkwood is a smoke-free hotel.
- The Parkwood is a Grade II Listed historic building so we
have not been permitted to install a lift (elevator), all
bedrooms are walk-up. If you feel you can't manage
stairs you'll need to book a room very early to reserve one
on a lower floor.
- As with most London B&B's the rooms are not air-conditioned
but each room is equipped with a fan.
- Sorry, no pets are allowed.]

'Small
Hotels of London' - "Surely
occupying one of the best situations in London, The Parkwood
is a gracious small hotel. Though only five minutes' walk
from busy, noisy Marble Arch it is a world away in this quiet
street which opens onto all the splendour of Hyde Park………Many
of the bedrooms have recently been re-decorated with pretty
papers and prints and all have satellite television, radio-alarms
and tea/coffee makers. Rooms are non-smoking. ……..
Once again a very, and deservedly, popular small hotel, so
we urge prospective visitors to book early, if possible."
'2007
Lonely Planet Publications' - This lovely little
hotel is just minutes away from the hustle and bustle of Oxford
Street and just seconds away from Tony and Cherie Blair's
new pad in Connaught Square. Whether or not that's a good
thing is up to you to decide, but at least you can take pleasure
knowing that you're paying peanuts for staying in a millionaire's
postcode. You certainly get value for money at the Parkwood.
There aren't many places in London that offer such generous-sized
rooms for such generous prices.........
